International Fireworks contest in Blanes
Every year, in July, the Festa Major of Blanes takes place for a week, also known as Saint Anna and Saint Joaquim Fair. During this Fair, the biggest fireworks contest in Europe is held, since more than 100 years ago, and it receives more than half a million visitors a year since it became official in the 70s. For several days, Fireworks are launched from Sa Palomera, and therefore the firework performance can be enjoyed from the unrivalled setting of the Blanes beaches. ¬†
Botanical gardens in Blanes: Marimurtra and Pinya de Rosa
The Marimurtra botanical garden is considered the best Mediterranean botanical garden in Europe, with 16ha. You will be impressed by its stunning views to the sea from a cliff and its combination of sea and mountain flora, which gives the name to the botanical garden, home for more the 4.000 vegetal species.
The Pinya de Rosa botanical garden combines science and art in every inch of its 50 ha, offering the perfect tropical home for more than 7.000 species in its microclimate.
